About time! Everyone’s been wanting a live action adaptation for ages.  However, I would never see Yamamoto Yusuke as Tamaki :(

 I remember browsing the akp forums one day and we were all picking who we would cast if they made it into a movie, or something like that. We never thought it would happen tho lol. Gonna be interesting to see how this works.

I’m so disappointed…..I’m not sure bout Kawaguchi Haruna as Fujioka Haruhi but Yamato Yusuke as Tamaki Suo is definitely a bad choice…..I don’t have anything against him but he’s just not suited to play that role…..

man I wish this live action were made earlier….then they can cast Maki-chan as Haruhi & Koike Teppei as Hani sempai… :p

 Dissapointed :( Everytime I see Yamamoto Yusuke, I see Isabella from Paradise Kiss. Can’t imagine him playing Tamaki. I hope he can seriously play Tamaki  (Who sometimes have a darker side). On the happier side, wouldn’t it be cool if Gackt was younger and played Kyoya.

Not really looking forward to this live action actually. Alot of the hilarity of the anime/manga is because of the exaggerations and animated/cartoony jokes that really can’t be translated into live action. Sorta like One piece can’t. I am worried. I’ll still give it a chance though.

OMG Miyake Ken should be Hani, he’s eternally childish XD even if the rest of the cast were ages younger than him. I love this manga.

I would like Yuu Shirota as Tamaki…err because his foreign look? Tamaki suppose to have some foreign features since he is half France Or Ikuta Toma Because I remember he played as Nakatsu, Stupid but gentle and looks nice with blonde hair!! I would love Maki-chan (remembering hanazakarino) as Haruhi! hahhaha! Teppei Koike as Hani-Sempai…I really love that idea…but Yudai not disappointing at all…he is cute and fits the role best beside the other cast.

Although, from what I saw, the people playing the characters may not be “right” to play the part, I’m still giving this series a chance.. it might be pretty good! I’m very excited. Its one of my faves.

MAN, I’ve been waiting three eyars for this … but Yamato Yusuke  as Tamaki ??? I mean I loved him in Atashinchi and Hana Kimi, but someone who looks like Shirota Yuu would suit Tamaki more … I can’t wait to see who will play as Ootori ♥ and the twins ! 

 It seems as if this year will be the year of gender-bending dramas. First I catch news of the Japanese adaptation of You’re Beautiful, and then there’s this.

Needless to say, I’m iffy about the choice of Yamata Yusuke as Tamaki, as I believe there are many more Caucasian-looking Japanese actors who could very well fit the job description. But because I loved his subtle antics in Hana Kimi and is flamboyant portrayal of girly model in AND as well as a gymnast in Tumbling, I am forced to concede that he does have the capacity to rightfully portray one of my most well-loved bishie crushes in Anime-fandom.

I mean, there have been so many rumors about the drama adaptation of the manga-turned-anime, even since the release of Hana Kimi, and like many people out there, I have somewhat formulated my own ideal casting of each role. I’m most curious about how they’re going to cast Hunny-sempai — whether they’re going to take an actor who has a baby-face or go straight out into casting a young pre-adolescent looking teen. And let’s not get started on the TWINS!

Great job Japan. Only you can make an awesomely relate-able drama out of the fantasy antics of any Manga. And with the track record of so many manga-turned-dramas (Mei-chan no Shitsuji, Kimi wa Petto, Hana Yori Dango, Hana Kimi, etc etc, Yukan Club), I’m expecting a lot out of this one. Don’t let me down!

i think yuseke have a potential to be tamaki. i mean his character (forgot the name) was wierd and stuff also in atashinchi danshi. he’ll just merge those character and ta da! you got tamaki. plus i think he’s hot in a way. can’t wait!

 This is my favorite manga, and the anime was great(!), but I don’t thin I’ll be watching this… I love Yamato Yusuke, but he is completely wrong for this part – and I have my doubts about the girl… So sad. Just hope I won’t end up wishing it was never made,like with Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge…

Whoever decided on giving the role to Yamato Yusuke must have missed reading the ‘Half-French’ part.

The age difference thing is so common in drama…. The Story of  Yamada Taro (Nino & Sho were like…. I think mid-20s and that girl was still a teen… at least a 7 years difference) also in Water Boys S1 where Yamada was like 6 years older that Kashii Yu… Yankee-kun to Megane-chan (I think Riisa is a 90’s kid… I think that or a 88/89er but Hiroki is an ‘82) so it’s not that uncommon…

Omg you know he acted in other stuff before that right? Where he was ‘less gay’ (whatever that’s suppose to mean because he wasn’t even gay in AD) It’s called ACTING for a reason.  Maki was suppose to be fluent in English in HanaKimi & her brother was suppose to be half Japanese (totally wasn’t the case) so they’re just gonna dye his hair blonde now to make him more like the character (though if you wanted to go ethnicity-wise Eiji would’ve fit but he probably doesn’t wanna do school roles)

Eiji is just as old as Shirota though. In the case of this show, they’re not worried about someone actually looking the part, but probably acting the part.  In Nodame, he was perfect because he did look the part of a foreigner (as well as Becky since they look obviously half Japanese half white) but there are shows where they’re not that concern about someone obviously looking the part but probably picking them because they feel as though that person themselves would do the character.  Streszman (however his name is spelled from Nodame) obviously wasn’t European which is why they plopped on that fake looking nose, the hair, and he had an accent.

I’m happy this is Kawaguchi Harunafirst starring role! So far I’ve seen every drama she was in (without realizing it) and I liked her a lot ^^.  To the people who keep saying Shirota Yu & Eiji should’ve been casted well…. Firstly it wouldn’t be the first time that this happened… Maki’s brother in HanaKimi was suppose to be half Japanese and Yoshinori obviously wasn’t (and Maki was suppose to be fluent in English too) and basing from the anime/manga.. did Tamaki even look half Japanese/Half European? Don’t even wanna hear the whole ‘blonde’ hair reason… Just saying~  Lookwise Shirota just looks too older & taller to be that role and to keep doing high school roles.  Eiji is actually just as old as Shirota.. though he may look a bit younger than Shirota who is to say he too want to do a highschool role? Some actors do feel as though they want to develop more and not keep doing  a high school role (or the same type of role every time… just see that from an actor’s perspective.) I can see why they couldn’t just pick any actor for this role (because many says he should be European-looking which I can agree to an extent but they could even change him being half Japanese too) but he needs to be a well-known actor for this leading role not just any random guy because he looks like Tamaki.  Just don’t get too high hopes on this show… not saying it’s gonna be bad but many drama adaptions from popular manga/anime that international fans like do tend to change vastly so know it’s not gonna be exactly like the manga.

So the rumours floating around were true. I’m personally okay w/  Yamamoto Yusuke (he’s really a versatile actor who can do all the serious/funny/gay stuff etc.) but since I’m not familiar w/ Kawaguchi Haruna, I’ll wait till I see it before I judge.

As an Ouran fan, I still remember how many people were raving about hoping for Horikita Maki to get Haruhi’s role, if there were any drama adaptation. I guess somehow, everyone hopes for all the “boyish” girl roles to be taken by Maki.

If they just make Chinen Yuri play the role of Hani Senpai everything will be ok…. even if they don’t I’ll still whatch it!

Uhh, waaait and don’t bombard me with dramas… I already have a hugeee watch-list.. I have been intending to watch or read the manga of Ouran because of so many good words about it that I’ve read, but never got the time… and now they’re making a live adaption of it. So I really need to kick myself in the ass and get going with watching the anime. Because I feel I want to watch the anime before watching the drama. Or hmm, perhaps it’s better for me to do the opposite, so I won’t be judging the drama and get disappointed? Oh well, I’ll see.
I like the gender-bending dramas, they’re fun. And I also think they could be good in a way to open the minds of people to accept other sexual orientations. :)

I effin’ love this manga &anime..&been waiting for a live action already.
I remember there was rumors in the past about it &the stars were gonna be Yamapi &Maki &I so wanted that since I am of that pairing but plans for it fell through..now it’s gonna come back with different people which I honestly don’t mind cause I just wanna see it as a live action already. Yeah I hope it’s true. So looking forward to this drama.

Wah, I love this manga, but this cast just spoils it for me, sorry actors and actresses :( You’re just not my cup of tea. Not that they’re bad actors and actresses, but I seriously feel none of them could portray those character. Imo, Ouran shouldn’t even be touched by any celebrities because nothing can be as perfect as the original drawn cast :(

 hahaha, oh my. :))) Just these past few days, I was asking myself, “isn’t it about time for Ouran to have a live-action drama? I wonder who will be tamaki?”, today, I found the answer to my questions. haha. Not sure about the casting though. but yeah, even though they currently don’t look like the original characters, maybe they can pull it off with their acting. So I won’t give any comments just yet, until I watch the drama. :)

yeah I also think that they look alike, but I don’t think that’s the reason though…

 ok yusuke is not ugly, but in this case tamaki is almost heavenly, soft face with white milky skin, blue eyes and blonde so the actor should be extremely handsome someone that gives you a royal feeling, but well i been waiting enough at least he is a goos actor so i think they will make it
