NHK to air new drama “Kurumi no Heya” starring Matsushita Nao

NHK will be airing a new drama titled “Kurumi no Heya” this July!
“Kurumi no Heya” is based on the Mukoda Kuniko’s novel of the same name. The “home drama” revolves around a family whose relationships are steadily falling apart. Matsushita Nao will star as the family’s second daughter, Momoko, as she struggles to pull her family back together.
“The pacing of Mukouda-san’s works, such as ‘A Un‘ and ‘Ashura no Gotoku‘, are good, and they’re funny,” said Matsushita of the author’s novels. “She draws out the deep connections between the members of the family with the coldness of an outsider. Even in ‘Kurumi no Heya’, it’s not a simple, warm story about a family. There’s poison.”
Filming for the drama begins on May 30th, and the series will air a total of six episodes beginning on July 26th.
