Hello! Project's newest idol unit,�S/mileage, announced on their official website today that they are currently recruiting new members!

This announcement comes just a few days after the girls celebrated their one year anniversary since their major debut.

The first round of interviews will take place at TKP Shibuya Conference Center in Tokyo beginning on June 4th, and will be continuing throughout the month. Applicants must be middle school or high school girls, or girls in that age range.

The official website notes that auditioners are allowed to participate in Morning Musume's 10th generation audition as well, but should they happen to pass both auditions, they will only be able to join one group.

Producer Tsunku teased fans on Twitter as well, answering "Tsunku-san, everyone at the event was shocked!" with "Maji desu ka ska?" ("For real? Ska"), a play on the title of Morning Musume's last single. He went on to say, "Got it. From the beginning, I stated that the number of members wasn't fixed. I'm just now putting that into practice. Sorry to make you worry."

Before S/mileage's major debut, the number of girls who would debut with the group was unclear, and fans breathed a sigh of relief when all four made it through safely. It now appears from Tsunku's comments here that he had yet another clever trick up his sleeve.
