NHK drama “Ohisama“, starring Inoue Mao and Kora Kengo, received heart-warming responses after the airing of an episode in which the two characters elope. The drama marriage was so successful that it garnered an influx of congratulatory telegrams, which caught the publicity department of the drama off-guard.

“Such a response for a morning drama hasn’t been seen before,” replied chief producer Komatsu Masayo. “It was a surprise for such a great response to occur. To receive response in the form of telegrams was a shock in itself.”

Telegrams decorated the studio for the cast and staff to see the public’s positive reaction to the drama, all this merely two months after the drama began to broadcast.
