Ah! Nakamura Aoi and Miura Shohei… But Miura looks really different there (really liked him in Tumbling) and oooh Yamada’s brother! I kinda remember him in Innocent Love & Ninkyo Helper.  Interested in Hikari’s younger brother too.. I don’t thin I’ve seen any drama with him in it.  I think I’m looking forward to the males in terms of acting than anything (I’m not super crazy about the story but would like to get into more rising actors/actresses ^^)

At first I thought it would maybe be a continue of the 1st season. But after I heard from my friend that this is a remake, made me pretty disappoint.

I wasn’t really happy when I heard that Hana Kimi had a new drama coming out, but I was willing to give it a chance when I heard it was just a sequel or another storyline or whatever… but to the point that they pretty much copied the same banner (picture, whatever that thing is called) just discourages me from even bothering to watch this. I guess I will wait till the end of this drama and read the reviews for it to see if it’s worthwhile to watch it. :|

The 1st Hana Kimi is the only Hana Kimi I’ll ever watch :P

I think they should’ve made an adaptation of the storyline, just like I think the Koreans are going to do it. It just seems to me that the characters have been picked according to what the original characters looked like…no need to re-make something which has already been done and dusted. Its like re-making Hana Yori Dango or Gokusen…you can’t, because its perfect already unless you are completely changing it.

Im glad miura is portraying nakatsu but nakamura as sano is a little bit weird. He just doesn’t have the feel of sano like when shun portrayed sano. Well hopefully he can pull it of. I wonder who is going to portray namba sempai, I love it when hiro was namba sempai he did a great job so hopefully someone good will be namba sempai. Can’t wait for this!! I personally think that this is a remake of the original drama. They have the same characters, the same uniform, and the same banner/poster/picture. I have no idea where the plot is going, but I hope that it stays true to the manga (I have never read the manga, so I would like to experience a different plot than the original). I am 99.99% certain that this drama is not a sequel, but a remake simply because it’s impossible for it to be a sequel.

Interesting… Watching the same drama from other perspective, and with other Actors… Interesting, and also, I didnt know that the Guy who played the drummer in BECK will be SANO >.< Kawaaaaiiii… Just because of him, I'll watch it…..  I think we shouldnt precipitate before watching it…. I wonder how this is going to turn out. The first version seems to have more of the ‘cute’ appearances, at least for me. I’ll have to wait until it comes out before I’ll make my final judgements on it. I like the cast in teh first one better than this once based on appearances ONLY, at the picture above. They even are standing at the same way as the first version’s picture.

Ikuta Toma set very high standars with his Nakatsu interpretation… I wonder if Miura Shohei will match up to him.

I agree with your first comment.  Why do they need to remake it.  It was only 4 years ago and in my mind the original is a classic.  If I was watching this version I would always be comparing it to the old one. Oh oh Ikuta Toma no one can compare lol.

Just goes to show how much AKB48 are highly backed with business sponsors. But this remake is going to make it big, at least in Japan. If so, only for the reason of AKB48 being BUSINESS. They bring in big bucks, and thats what matters in business. Sadly.

I was really worried about who would replace Ikuta Toma as Nakatsu. Because it had to be someone awesome. Otherwise the whole drama would be a flop! But i’m really happy with Miura Shohei! I’ve never seen him act idiotic so i look forward to seeing how he plays put the part…

I honestly think some people have a problem with this remake only because they’re simply use to the 07 version and won’t help but to compare compare compare… That’s how a lot of people are though… when Charlie and the Chocolate factory came out people compared… Lord of the Ring when it came to the book… comparing… manga with anime… Transformers… (and pretty much every other super hero movie that’s been made minus Batman I think…) If people keep comparing it to the original they’re not gonna enjoy this show for what it is.  You really do have to keep an opening mind… and not get your hopes down before it even starts. I know we all do that sometimes but… that’s probably how we can enjoy remakes

I think people’s concerns are valid because the remake is so close to the original. I think not a lot of people have problems with manga/novel adoption to movie, then movie to TV series (or vice versa), but to make the exact same story again in the same format with the same characters after 4 years?? you are begging people to compare!!

Even the costumes and the poster and the hairstyles are similar….

I have no expectations for this drama because I didn’t like the original one. But for fans of the series, I don’t think they need another remake. Just like how I’ll react if they make a new LOTR trilogy now…

But, but, if the story is completely different from the last one, then there might be hope. It’s just that from the cast members’ interviews, it looks like they are still aiming to portray the manga’s characters. So it reads, re-hash hanakimi 2007 to me.

I doubt that they’d ever be able to replace the originals, after all, like someone said previously, it’s Oguri Shun, Ikuta Toma, Shirota Yuu and Mizushima Hiro we’re talking about.

I do agree that it’s way too soon for any remake (I said that back when it was first announced ^^;; I mean… it’s barely 4 years… let real time go by first) but in general I usually hear lots of people comparing movie adaptions to TV shows/books/manga/anime/video games like all the time (and at my college when I have a bunch of gamers and geeks… they will go up and down on a movie and point out how flawed it is compared to the original media… hey even I was complaining about how they made Phoenix in Xmen lol ^^;;;)

But I honestly don’t know if this is gonna be a remake because the previous article it made it sound like it’s like a spin-off with different characters and a different story.. but in this article it’s like… trying to be the same thing UNLESS it’s like a Gokusen thing… The characters are different but their arch-characters are the same. Like Miura might play a similar Nakatsu-like character… but not exactly like him… or Aoi might play a similar Sano but not exactly like him (kinda like Gokusen…) So yeah I really don’t know if this is a real remake or just… an alternative story with similar theme (girl disguise herself as a boy) but completely different scenario. But even so though, people will still compare this (if it is a spin-off) to the original ^^;;

Sigh…….some people are so seriously negative and not give it a chance. The only reason that Hana Kimi was good in the first place because of Nakatsu character since Maki and Shun didn’t even have any chemistry as couple. As long as the Nakatsu guy can be funny then it will save the drama anyway. and yes Acchan is there because of AKB popularity but didn’t anyone notice that she’s basically a mini Maki in looks?

I agree… I like Shun (excellent actor) but that wasn’t his best role… I really do forget he was in that drama. The people that stand out in my mind is everyone else BUT the two leads (Toma the most… they said this was really his breakout role that made him more popular in the acting world.) And I agree that Toma really did make this drama funny (as well as the sillyness of the other dorm boys of course.. it was just a big silly mess with them) but Maki & Shun had really no chemistry… because really… did many people enjoy it for the romance of Maki/Shun or for the funniness of Toma + the others >_> ?

I’m actually more interested in the actors and who I will probably get more into in the future.  Have to admit that HanaKimi 07 I was introduced to a lot of actors.. I’m a fan of Yamamoto, Mizushima, Kimura, Toma (though I saw him in Hana Yori Dango before.. Yu… was already a fan prior to the show) Oscar… eh…. kinda not really but I can’t take him seriously in NANA 2 (though I was convinced in Fugitive Lawyer) um… the guy who is the first dorm leader (I liked him in Water Boys.. he was adorable ^^) and some others I can’t think of right now. Same with Gokusen (at least season 1… season 2 I only got introduced to Mokomichi since I pretty much knew who the other guys were but Hiro was in that… I wonder if many people knew that ^^;) So I’m seeing it from that perspective for this show… lemme get into more actors whooh! Am interested in Yamada’s little bro

THIS. actually I even prefer Nakatsu&Mizuki pair so much than Sano&Mizuki (and I think a lot of  Hana-Kimi fans would agree on this). And I think that’s one of the reason why that live-action didn’t quite work very well cause in the manga, it’s obvious that people would really root Sano for Mizuki..

to be honest, I like hanakimi the first BECAUSE of the funny-ness of Toma and the rest of dorm members including dorm 1 and dorm 3….not the story or interaction  between maki and shun.
They have no chemistry. Yes they didn’t! Maki have more with Mukai Osamu in other drama…

I have that feeling for many dramas aimed at teenage-early 20’s girls… just because they’re suppose to be together in the end doesn’t mean they have much chemistry… Omg Shun & Yuriko had more chemistry in Tokyo DOGS than Shun & Maki! (the finale topped it!) Oh yeah… people who like HanaKimi might like Tokyo DOGS… It also stars Shun & Hiro… each actor acting very different than you’re use to… ^^ It’s still funny though even if it’s a detective drama!)

I know! Lol! He’s probably like “I’ve been a school boy for over 10 years now…. ” I was soooo happy to see him in Tokyo DOGS. There’s some bit of flaws in the series (but they didn’t bother me) but I thought he was amazing in that show! Stereotypical American cop.. yeah!!! And Hiro & Shun work so well together in that show… in Hana Kimi they didn’t really have much interaction but you wouldn’t think they would until Tokyo DOGS ^^

I will admit when I saw the cast of ParaKiss I wasn’t that thrilled (but the difference is I’ve actually seen them all act before so no one was really new to me) and wasn’t too thrilled with their apperance since at least in NANA I believed the cast resembled their respective character (however though the acting lacked a lot but I don’t blame them.. I blame the writer/director) but I think even though ParaKiss cast don’t really remind me of the manga characters, it might make up with the acting.. so I gotta at least keep an open mind in that aspect.

why it done again? the drama already was good .. more then good why the need to re-do it again? watching the original hana kimi make it impossible for me to watch this one, as no one ever be as funny as Toma, or shun or Maki. All the casts in that drama was amazing and nothing will ever beat it.

I still dont like too much the idea of remakes but since I love acchan and HANA KIMI!!!!! I will give it a chance.. I think they should just go to a manga who is very popular but doesnt have a drama, that would be better!!!! why not? Japan has already tons of awesome mangas and popular who doesnt have a drama but whats done is done, good luck to the drama then :)

people enjoyed the drama because: guys think Maki is hot, girls think Maki is cute and Oguri is HOT x) and then because Ikuta was funny 

….so does this means it takes place in middle school…? Or are you referring to the actual cast at hand? Because Maki was…at least 19 when 07 came out… Shun was 25 I believe…Toma… 23? And the others varied in age… so I’m not quite sure what you mean…

…well honestly though I think that’s a shallow way to enjoy something. I didn’t think Maki was cute… nor did I think Shun was hot in that role (honestly he didn’t even seem all that important). But you have your opinion on why some enjoyed it, I have mine…

why people always is so defensive and think about beating and all? seriously is just a remake, you can give it a chance and then decide if you wont like it, they are just doing again the drama, everyone knows it wont beat the first one since the original is always the best, so yes, maybe both dramas are good

Well.. I believe that Toma portrayed the role well.. but I don’t see the reason why people are disliking this so much! I mean, he won’t be that bad.. cuz’ I think Shohei can totally pull this off! Or atleast give this a chance? We haven’t even seen this so no one can judge just by looking at the cast. & Seriously, the cast isn’t that bad either! And I seriously I loved him in gokusen 3 so I guess he can definitely portray Nakatsu just the same as Toma, or maybe less but it definitely won’t be below our expectations! This is what I believe! 

Nothing can beat Ikuta Toma as Nakatsu..

hmmm… What I mean is that…the cast on this one are more on the barely highschool… they don’t have that edgy feeling of being a man… the cast has that fresh feeling… like guys who’s barely on their puberty…I mean… waaah… how should I say it…?

Young = no experienced in the worldly ways (present casts)

Past Cast =has that edgy feel of been there and doing it… the worldy ways…
has already that experienced in more ways than one…

btw the guy who played in koizora (movie) is miura haruma…this one is miura shohei, he acted in koizora (drama) as nozomu tho

gosh everyone should look at this as a chance for them to put a different spin on the drama. if it’s exactly the same, i won’t watch it probably, but if it’s different plot wise…… *shrugs* just act like it’s supposed to be a new drama, not a remake.

Hana Kimi doesn’t need a remake. There’s no way this version could beat Maki’s Mizuki, Oguri’s Sano, or IKUTA TOMA’S NAKATSU. (Or Nanba, Tennouji, Oscar…and everyone else).

I SWEAR I WON’T WATCHED THIS  DRAMA !AND ACTUALLY, I HATE MAEDA ATSUKO VERY VERY MUCH. FULL STOP !

Maybe it’s because i’m a blinded JE fan. But it better be good.
It’ll be hard to top the original Hana Kimi with Maki,Shun&Toma.

i don’t see the logic why Hana Kimi must have a remake this early..also,i don’t think anyone could surpass the success of the original…

Based purely on the pictures, this quite simply looks just like the first Hana Kimi, only not as good.  :/
