Singer-songwriter and Tokyo Jihen frontwoman Shiina Ringo is featured on the latest issue of "Lips" magazine. For the August issue, Shiina talks about a woman�s way to live from her perspective.

"Naturally, everyone thinks women are ever-changing. They are free to become whatever they want, but become paralyzed by unnecessary things, such as the eyes of society and men," stated Shiina, who wants people to live selfishly especially because we are in these difficult times.

Shiina continued, "Women have it hard until their twenties. They have to prove ourselves to men who are on their minds, or our clients. We are tied down by gossip, like �if you do that, you won�t be popular�, becoming exhausted and unable to be true to ourselves."

The star says she refused to wear skirts when she first made her debut and started enjoying her womanly self after turning 30, especially after the� birth of her child Junji in 2001. "After giving birth to my son, I started to relax. I didn�t care people thought of me anymore,� she commented. �It seems women hate growing older, but I�m happy. The truth is, things got easier when I turned 30."
