AKB48's outfit for "Everyday, Kachuusha" receives bids over 1 billion yen?!

allkpop

Today, Yahoo! Auctions revealed that AKB48s used outfits were receiving bids of over one billion yen ($12 million USD). The outfits are from their recent song, Everyday, Kachuusha and these are the very same outfits that the girls wore from the music video.

Bids started coming in when the auction went live on July 6th and the bid for these clothes hit the one million yen ($12 thousand USD) mark by the midday of the 7th. By 2 p.m., the auction temporarily stopped after it went over one billion yen. The bid of 1,000,002,999 yen was deleted because it was a troll bid and they couldn't confirm the identity of the bidder. The bid reopened once again at the reasonable price of 400 thousand yen ($5 thousand USD).

The officials of this auctions stated, We can do nothing about this prankster who put in the one billion yen bid but due to protocols, we have erased their bid. Now, even after this incident, there we over 700 bids and now the auction is set at the price of 560 thousand yen ($7 thousand USD). Even though the price of one billion yen was a fluke, we won't know the final price of the auction until it ends on 10:39 p.m. on July 12th.

All the profits from this auction will be used for charity purposes for the Tohoku earthquake back in March.
