Japan wins 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup!

The final match for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011 was held in Frankfurt, Germany on July 17th, and the Japanese national women’s football team (also known as Nadeshiko Japan) defeated the U.S. in penalty kicks. This is a particularly great triumph for Japan, as spirits boosted significantly thanks to the girls’ fierce determination.
The captain of Nadeshiko Japan, Sawa Homare, won the MVP award in the tournament, as well as the top scorer’s prize with her 5 goals over the 2011 World Cup.
Congratulations to Nadeshiko Japan, and thank you for the great match!
