Today it was revealed that the popular techno-pop trio Perfume will be making their debut on the big screen for the upcoming movie "Moteki".
"Moteki" is a romantic comedy starring Moriyama Mirai as 'Fujimoto Yukiyo', a young man who gets taken by surprise by his 'moteki' - a period when one becomes very popular and attractive to others. The movie is based on a best-selling manga and drama of the same name, but will feature an original story written by its creator, mangaka Kubo Mitsuro. The four heroines in the movie are played by Nagasawa Masami, Aso Kumiko, Naka Riisa and Maki Yoko.
The drama already featured a scene with Yukiyo dancing to Perfume's song "Baby Cruising Love". For the movie-adaption, they decided to include a similar scene and asked the trio if they would like to make an actual appearance this time.
The girls accepted the offer and enjoyed doing the three-minute-long dance scene. They commented, "Of course we were nervous, but rather than that it was a lot of fun to dance to our own song together with Mirai-san."
Moriyama himself loves that scene as well and said, "This scene alone already makes up for the price of a movie ticket."
"Moteki" will open in theaters on September 23rd.
