Poster revealed for Matsuda Shota’s “Hard Romantic-er”

Toei released the poster image of the upcoming movie “Hard Romantic-er“, starring Matsuda Shota as a high school dropout and second-generation Korean in Japan.

As explained in an earlier article, “Hard Romantic-er” is the movie adaptation of director Gu Su Yeon’s semi-autobiographical novel, describing the violence that became a part of his everyday life.

The first teaser picture that was released with the said article, showed Matsuda with Gu’s trademark, his neatly combed-back and blond hair. However, in the shocking poster we can see Gu checking his pitiful state in the mirror. A state that shows him marked by the violence – his hair not so neat anymore, a swollen eye and bruises all over his face. It’s perfectly depicting the essence of the movie and should arouse the curiosity of those seeing it in movie theaters and other places.

The cast also includes Nagayama Kento, Maki Yoko, Watanabe Dai, Nakamura Shido, and many others.

“Hard Romantic-er” will open in Japan on November 26th.

whaa Matsuda’s face O.O I just hope that this movie won’t be affected by the anti-Hallyu thing going on Japan right now…cause Matsuda Shota is one great actor and I believe he can portray the character well:)

It’s not like there is an anti-hallyu thingie going on in Japan… it’s just that a lot of people like it, while others don’t ^^ It has been blown out of proportion because of the few past thing that has happened (regarding the Twitter comments)

Anyways I REALLY look forward to the movie! The plot sounds really interesting and Matsuda Shota is a great actor, so I want to see how he’s gonna portray his role

You´re wrong. THERE IS an anti hallyu movement in Japan. they´re even boycotting Fuji TV for its broadcasting of korean contents (among other things) The latest demonstration reached over  3,000 assitants.

It´s not that I agree, I find the whole thing stupid and xenophobic. But I´m letting you know that as some people love hallyu some others are organizing themselves to go against it. it´s be nice if you search for some info about it. It´s an interesting topic that goes beyond fan wars between Kpop and Jpop. It depicts a whole social issue existing from years between Korea and Japan

When people say thre’s no movement, it means the movement is not statistically significant. 6000 people out of 150 million hardly counts.

You are right the anti-war has reached youtube… many are trolling and bashing on kpop vd and tv appearences, but the most interesting thing is that a lot of j-kpop lovers and universal music lovers (in japan) have started defending korean entertainment and culture. The k-artist promoting in Japan are also under alot of pressure. It’s sad because if you look at the bigger picture …it’s not about the hallyu wave…it’s way more than that…xenophobia and insecurities are at it’s peek.

@TrickyNishidake:disqus denying  a portion of society´s opinions because they´re not “statistically significant” is plainly wrong. Under that logic legitimate concerns and rights have been overlooked because the interesed minority was not “statistically significant”
I know this is not the case, because these people are xenophobes. But even if they are, they have the right to say whatever they want as you have your right too. You wouldn´t like not being taken into account because you´re part of a stadistic minority.
Plus the fact that they are many or few in number doesn´t mean the movement does not exist. The movement is THERE, therefore it exists. You can´t deny their existence because of its number. There is a portion of society voicing sth. Denying they are doing it because they´re few is a wrong and poor reading of a society,
