As an Idol fan, I know how everything works. You have the top tier then everyone else. Which is why I love the concept of this senbatsu and wish more idol groups did it. My idles are that I’d rather have a team then a soloists with a bunch of back up dancers. I’ll give a little sympathy for those who have lost their favorites, but only a little because you know everything will be just as it was after this singles release. The top tier will return and the world will continue to spin. But it was a glorious time to see the top tier inactive while it was in effect.

Damn, I would have preferred Fujie Reina. Nothing against Shinoda Mariko, but she’s popular enough as it is with a ton of endorsement deals. Reinyan can use the extra boost and she has sufficient popularity to actually leverage and build on it unlike last year’s winner.

In the semi-finals, where Minegishi Minami was against Shinoda Mariko, shouldn’t Mariko had won?

I personally think Mariko is better choice. Her populairty mainly comes from her activity outside AKB. Among all media senbatsu she is the only one dont have sub unit or solo singles. Besides, she might graduate months later since she already 25 years sold. Reinyan ranked 40th in last senbatsu election.

What I like about this tournament is that there can be a different senbatsu and line up, there are certain members in AKB48 that are just way overexposed and other people deserve the spotlight once in a while, even if it means a little less sales. Sorry Acchan, but I was rooting for Minegishi Minami, good to see that she got far ;)

i think this is a pretty fair, unbiased contest. it doesn’t matter how pretty u r, or how cool u r. u just have to win the tournament (rock, paper, scissors). i wish more groups had this type of system. the members from all areas get their motivations to work harder…. and also, congratulations to shinoda mariko!!!!

I don’t think everyone hates her o_o Because

1. She wouldn’t be #1 on the 3rd General Election and receive something like 130k votes.
2. Most people just want other girls to have a chance to be center because after this single, Acchan will be back in the middle again regardless. It’s not a huge loss for her in any case.

i don’t think people are hating on her. it’s just that we want to be able to see other members. i personally adore acchan, but i wanna see members who don’t get promoted quite as much.

I’m not too familiar with all the AKB members, but I think I’ll try to familiarize myself with Kojima Haruna first, because, well, it’s kinda just easier that way… XD If she’ll really be on all the singles, and be the only member with that record, then I think it’d be easier to learn about her first.

I can tell your are not happy w/ the results, but you REALLY need to think, Those girls are going to be in AKB for a while and Acchan is ALWAYS center no matter what, so it was time for Mariko to be center, especially since she is probably going to be graduating with-in a year

Yeah I don’t hate her I just don’t think it’s fair to other members to always have to play second fiddle to someone (felt the same about Beyonce’s old girl group). Also she isn’t the only pretty member in the group.

Why does it have to be between Acchan & Sayaka, I love them both. but Actually I was rooting for Sayaka more.I really want her to be in the Media Senbatsu though It’s kind of sad coz I’m gonna miss Acchan. It’s her 1st time not to be in AKB Single.
