Well, i don’t think his debut is going that well, it’s not generating any buzz OUTSIDE OF HIS ALREADY FAN circle. But this thing takes time so who know. However, while we’re waiting to see how that will play out long term, he need to keep his fan base in Japan. He can’t afford to lose them. They’re his main money making machine.

All covers are pretty. I kinda like the fifth season from what i have heard. His fans are speculating if Seasons is the same song as the one that one ofJin’s friend/crew have put out. if so then i’m somewhat disappointed. it’s an ok song but nothing special and too much in the same vein as the fifth season to be on the same single IMO

Jin already debuted as soloist in Japan w/ his Eternal single, didn’t he? But yeah i don’t have problem w/ him going back and forth. Actually that’s what he needs to do. He can f* up big time if he simply ignores his career in Japan. Nothing is guaranteed for him in US while he already has horde of fan in Japan.

 This. I’m getting worried about his American debut. It only just begun a few weeks ago, but I still haven’t seen his song played on TV, heard it on the radio, or seen it advertised anywhere. :/

 It probably doesn’t help that Warner Bros are doing everything in their power to make sure nobody hears Test Drive. Seriously, why aren’t they paying the radio stations to play the song…or doing more to advertise it to people outside Jin’s already-existing fanbase? What the hell is going on??

Well I didn’t specifically meant this single being his debut solo but yeah he’s a soloist now in Japan too so yeah he needs to continue doing activity there.  It’s just securer than the US.

I’m half happy/half sad about this news. It’s great that we’re gonna get a pretty Japanese song complete with a PV showing his pretty face. OTOH, I’m sad that in English, he has a wall up to his fans. He’s always hiding his face and autotuning his voice.

Yeah, i don’t really know how music promotion works but seems like his team is not doing a good job of it. Let’s hope they will come up w/ something effective soon.

Kanjani8 have released singles every month for June, July and August. I don’t remember other Johnnys since I’m not a fan of them, only K8. I do keep track of other Jpop release since I’m an Oricon chart addict.

I’m glad he’s not releasing his RnB in JP. Imo, RnB doesn’t do his voice justice and he doesn’t do that genre justice. Ballads though, is an entirely different story. It was his ballads that made me love his voice.

I think I know why he said that, tho. Yamapi’s album had a bunch of club songs, and it wasn’t a huge hit. My cousins in Jpn listen to smap and masaharu fukuyama type songs, their kids listen to yui type songs. I don’t know anyone over there that would go to a club or listen to a club song.

And here in the states, at least here in LA, anyone from kids to grandkids can be heard bumping club songs from their cars on any given day.
