Fukuyama Masaharu to sing the theme song for new Doraemon movie

On November 20th, singer/actor Fukuyama Masaharu (42) held the final stage for his huge nationwide tour at the Saitama Super Arena, concluding a series of concerts that visited 19 cities, played 56 stages, and pulled a total audience number of 600,000.

During the encore, popular cartoon character Doraemon came out on stage, prompting Fukuyama to announce that he’ll be singing the theme song (title currently unknown) for the upcoming Doraemon movie, “Doraemon Nobita to Kiseki no Shima ~Animal Adventure~“.

The crowd of 20,000 at the Super Arena immediately responded with a yell of excitement over this joint project between Japan’s two cultural figures. This new song will mark Fukuyama’s second collaboration with Doraemon, as he previously participated in a Doraemon movie as a voice actor.

Fukuyama also announced that his New Year’s Eve live concert at Pacifico Yokohama will be available for public viewing in movie theaters across the nation; it will also be broadcasted via WOWOW on New Year’s Day.
