“Switch Girl!!” to get live-action drama adaptation starring Nishiuchi Mariya

In the latest issue of Margaret (bi-weekly shoujo manga magazine published by Shueisha), released on November 19th, it was announced that Aida Natsumi’s manga ‘Switch Girl!!‘ will get a live-action drama adaptation.

‘Switch Girl!!’ is a school comedy centering Tamiya Nika who is a charismatic popular gal at school, but she turns sloppy in her private time.  The manga has been serialized on Margaret since 2006.

The protagonist will be played by ‘Seventeen Magazine‘ model, Nishiuchi Mariya, and the male male character Kamiyama Arata will be played by Kiriyama Ren.  The drama will be produced by Azuma Yasuyuki who previously produced popular dramas “Liar Game Season 2” and “Hachi One Diver“.

The drama adaptation of ‘Switch Girl!!’ will start airing on December 24th on Fuji TV TWO (communications satellite).

    Whoa…The male lead looked just like Kame for a sec, but google images proved me very wrong…Sounds like a fun drama, probably will check out the manga now.

    The name sounds so familiar… but I haven’t been to the book store to know what’s the newest manga out nowadays… but sounds kinda cool ^^ Kinda reminds me a bit of Hotaru no Hikari (the basis of the story) Yeah…… females are so different when we’re home….

    lol so many adaptations. me gusta. I like Switch Girl and even if I still hold grudges against Mariya, I’ll still watch it. I might start to like her. xD

    i usually don’t like shoujo manga cuz it’s soo~ sugary but this manga is pretty realistic tbh….most girls can relate to being “off” at home lol..

    I think the major difference with SG and Hotaru no Hikari is that even though they both have an
    “off-mode”, Switch Girl’s off-mode is more crude that it’s to the point where it’s almost disgustingly honest. And the main characters are totally different. I think that Nika is more manipulative and calculating when it comes to her off-mode being discovered. I’m a big fan of both stories, so I hope I’m not disappointed with this!

    And plz don’t make Nika’s off-mode subtle in the live-action. It’s what’s great about her because when she switches off, she goes to the extreme and doesn’t hold anything back.

    thats me anyway,, but i never read this manga, i try this manga later.. not interested for now but the live-action version.. *look forward to it!

    I’m really excited about it, but I doubt nishiuchi mariya could actually act like nika & do really disgusting things in a non-cutesy way. :S
