Kuriyama Chiaki, Tanihara Shosuke, & GACKT to voice act for CG anime film “Dragon Age”

Actress Kuriyama Chiaki attended the press conference which was held at a church in Tokyo, for the upcoming CG animation film “Dragon Age -Blood Mage no Seisen-“.

Kuriyama voice acts the main character “Cassandra”, and this is the first time for her to take the lead role for a full-length anime film.  Kuriyama commented, “I was able to enjoy it, since it felt like as if I was acting for a live-action movie.  I swear it will be something that is worth watching, because I seriously put a lot into it.

The anime film is based on a role-playing video game “Dragon Age: Origins” (developed by BioWare/published by Electronic Arts) that was released in 2009, and Jeffrey Scott who is the story writer for the original game, took charge of the screenplay for the anime film.  Reportedly, the story will be the preceding chapter for the sequel to the game “Dragon Age 2″ (will be released on February 2nd in Japan for PS3/Xbox360).

At the press conference, other cast members, Tanihara Shosuke who plays “Regalyan” and GACKT who plays the “Knight Commander”, as well as the director Sori Fumihiko also showed up, and it was announced that GACKT’s song “Until The Last Day” has been chosen as the theme song for the anime film.

“Dragon Age -Blood Mage no Seisen-” will be released on February 11th 2012.
