Nishino Kana to sing for Karina’s upcoming movie
It’s been announced that singer Nishino Kana will be providing the theme song for Karina’s upcoming movie, ‘GIRL‘.
The movie is based on Okuda Hideo’s novel of the same title, which has sold over 30,000 copies. Actresses Aso Kumiko, Kichise Michiko, and Itaya Yuka will also star in the movie.
Producer Kubota Osamu explained that he chose Nishino to sing the theme song because of her immense popularity. “The concept of this movie is ‘Dedicated to every girl, and to give girls power’, so I asked Nishino Kana-san, who is a tremendously popular artist amongst girls, to sing the theme song.”
The title of the theme song is “Watashitachi“, and is said to describe the bond and memories between women. Nishino commented, “I was extremely excited to write the lyrics for a movie with girls in the spotlight.”
“GIRL” is scheduled to open in theaters on May 26th.
