SDN48 tops Oricon Weekly Chart for the first time with their 1st/last album

On the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking for the week of March 26th, SDN48�s first and last album, �NEXT ENCORE� (released on the 14th), sold 48,000 copies in its first week and thus, topping the charts. This album marks the first time since their debut to achieve first on the Oricon charts.

SDN48 formed back in August 2009 under the mature concept of �Saturday Night�s 20 and over female group� and released their debut single, �GAGAGA�, back in November of 2010. Four of their singles consecutively placed 3rd in the rankings and their last single, �Makeoshimi Congratulations�, took the 2nd place in the rankings as of last week.

When asked how they felt about their album topping the charts, SDN48�s captain Noro Kayo exclaimed, �First place, it�s not a dream right!? I am extremely happy! It has been our dream since our debut to top the rankings and I would like to thank the fans for making this wish come true.� She added, �Although there are only two weeks left to our graduations, we, SDN48 will do our best to the end so please cheer us on,� and called out to the fans for their support.
