As we previously reported back in January, the June issue of 'Jump Square' is serializing Watsuki Nobuhiro's "Rurouni Kenshin" with the new title "Rurouni Kenshin -Cinema Version-".
This version will be a remake of the original that revisits the encounters of 'Himura Kenshin' with 'Kamiya Kaoru' and 'Myojin Yahiko'. Other characters expected to be revisited are 'Takeda Kanryu' and 'Udou Jine', who is in the live action movie that will be released on August 25th.
In the issue of 'Jump Square', Watsuki talks about the new manga and movie in an interview with the magazine. 'Jump Square' will also release reprints of a few selective color illustrations of the series as well as gifts of exclusivehand towels for a thousand fans.
In continuation of the "Cinema Version", 'Shounen Jump' will run a sequel in its August issue, "Rurouni Kenshin -Meiji Kenkaku Romantan- Episode Zero". It will reveal why the swordsman decided to stay at the Kamiya dojo. Also, the weekly show 'Saki-yomi Jam-BANG!' will have a segment dedicated to Rurouni Kenshin -Cinema Version-,airing Friday, May 4th.
There is also a "Rurouni Kenshin" app that will be released in the early weeks of May along with a new PSP game and novel of the series this summer.
