Superfly and Tortoise Matsumoto to release duet song
It’s been revealed that Superfly and Tortoise Matsumoto will be releasing their duet song, “STARS“, on July 25th! This song will be used as the theme song for Fuji TV’s broadcast of the London Olympics.
Since long ago, Superfly’s Ochi Shiho had wished to sing together with Tortoise. When the two met about 2 years ago, Shiho expressed her hopes to Tortoise, who agreed to work with her someday.
As 2012 came along, Tortoise was asked by Fuji TV to provide the theme song for the London Olympics. He wanted “a song that you can pleasantly shout to, a song that you can sing with someone“, and so, he approached Shiho to be his duet partner.
Tortoise and Shiho put their ideas together and created a song with the theme of “universal love”. The song is arranged and produced by Tsutaya Koichi.
“STARS” will be released as a single under the name “Superfly & Tortoise Matsumoto“. The limited edition version will come with a DVD containing the PV and making-of footage for the title track. It will also come with an interview and documentary footage of both Shiho and Tortoise.
