The official website of the upcoming live-action adaptation of Akatsuka Fujio's manga and anime classic 'Himitsu no Akko-chan' was finally updated with a full-length trailer.
'Himitsu no Akko-chan' revolves around the the 10-year-old elementary school girl Kagami 'Akko-chan' Atsuko who transforms into a 22-year-old college student (Ayase Haruka) thanks to a magical compact mirror in order to watch over her first love (Okada Masaki) at a cosmetics company in secret.
The manga was the first magical girl manga in Japan 50 years ago and spawned numerous anime adaptations. The movie features an original story fit for the 21st century and many unique moments, like Ayase transforming into Osugi Ren as shown in the trailer. Aside from those three, the trailer also introduces the various characters played by Tanihara Shosuke, Fukiishi Kazue, Tsukaji Muga, Motai Masako, Kaga Takeshi, and Kagawa Teruyuki.
Moreover Ayase is transforming into several outfits as Akko-chan, such as a policewoman's uniform, a bike suit, a wedding dress, and many others. It's a cute, colorful, and cheerful adaptation that shouldn't be missed by fans of the manga and lighthearted romantic comedies.
'Himitsu no Akko-chan' is scheduled to open in cinemas nationwide on September 1st.
