On August 22nd, the official website of the upcoming movie 'Tsui no Shintaku' ('The Terminal Trust') was updated with a full trailer.

'Tsui no Shintaku' is an emotional drama about terminal care and stars actress Kusakari Tamiyo and actor Yakusho Koji together for the first time since the Japanese original of 'Shall We Dance?' in 1996.

Kusakari will be playing a doctor who falls into despair after being cast aside by her colleague (Asano Tadanobu) with whom she had an affair. It's one particular patient (Yakusho), who's life is gradually being taken over by nothing but suffering, that helps her heal her emotional scars. Their bond soon develops into more than just a doctor-patient relationship, but his disease grows stronger and he falls into a state of cardiopulmonary arrest.

Fully aware that he could end up like this very soon, he asks her to release him from his pain as soon as possible when he still has the chance. Now the time has come and it's up to her to make her decision and live with the consequences.

In addition to Kusakari, Yakusho, and Asano, the movie will also feature the appearance of Osawa Takao as the public prosecutor who is investigating the case.

The movie is based on a novel of the same name by lawyer and writer Saku Tatsuki. The script was written by the director himself, Suo Masayuki, who also directed 'Shall We Dance?' 16 years ago. Moreover he directed the critically acclaimed 'Soredemo Boku wa Yattenai' ('I Just Didn't Do It'), in which he already skillfully explored the Japanese justice and trial system.

'Tsui no Shintaku' is scheduled to open in Japan on October 27th.
