On September 21, it was revealed that world-renowned director Sono Sion is going to tackle his first pure entertainment blockbuster. The movie will be called 'Jigoku de Naze Warui - Why Don't You Play in Hell?' and feature six starring roles portrayed by Kunimura Jun, Tsutsumi Shinichi, Nikaido Fumi, Tomochika, Hasegawa Hiroki, and Hoshino Gen.

Sono dug up an old scenario he had written 15 years and fine-tuned various parts. He himself announced, "I want to do an action movie now!" He continued, "You could say that it does feel a bit like 'Kill Bill', but that's only accidental. After all, I wrote this scenario way before that movie. (laughs) Anyway, it's very extreme and filled with all kinds of stuff, which is why I had to approach actors from all kinds of genres. This time the viewers should be able to genuinely enjoy this movie." Except for actress Nikaido, Director Sono has never worked with any of the other five actors before.

The story focuses on a group of people who are only bound by hatred and that hatred is gradually reaching its boiling point. 'Muto' (Kunimura) desperately wants to help his daughter 'Mitsuko' (Nikaido) to star in a movie. 'Ikegami' (Tsutsumi) has fallen in love with 'Mitsuko', but he's on more than just bad terms with her father. Getting dragged into this complicated situation are the movie director 'Hirata' (Hasegawa) and some random man named 'Kouji' (Hoshino).

Kunimura commented, "When I first received the script, all I could think of was wanting to work together with Director Sono and immediately agreed to take the role. (laughs) Of course the scenario was very interesting as well. It's a wonderful story with beautiful words flying past each other like bullets in an absolutely unthinkable world."

Meanwhile Tsutsumi revealed his first impression of Director Sono and said, "He seems like a very shy person, but as soon as he starts to talk about movies there is nothing that can stop him again. I thought to myself that this person must truly love movies and made the decision that I absolutely want to work with him." He added, "This time I'm playing a Yakuza man, yet overall it feels more like a comedy, so I'll try not to be too enthusiastic."

Tomochika stated, "Director Sono is someone with the ability to see what an actor is capable of before the actor himself and always manages to get the most out of a person. He has the image of a savior (among actors). I hope he can transform me as well."

For Hasegawa, this movie feels like a gift of god. He expressed, "This role, in this movie, is exactly what I've always wanted to play. It's THE role I've been waiting for all those years. I have to thank the god of movies for this! I'm going to enjoy Sono's work to my heart's content."

Of course, Hoshino is also already more than excited about this opportunity. He commented, "I was very surprised when I read the scenario. This is totally off the charts. Every day is so much fun, and you can't help but become excited day after day. I think you all will really enjoy this movie."

Actress Nikaido is the only one of the six actors Sono has previously worked with. Nikaido starred in his movie 'Himizu', which earned her and her co-star Sometani Shota the 'MARCELLO MASTROIANNI AWARD' at the 68th Venice International Festival in 2011. She earned a lot of confidence thanks to him and said, "This movie is fun, interesting, and intense. On set it feels like you're in the middle of a tornado. You just have to love this movie and all its lovable characters."

The action/comedy blockbuster 'Jigoku de Naze Warui - Why Don't You Play in Hell?' is slated to be released in March of 2013.
