On February 7th, Kora Kengo, Yoshitaka Yuriko, and other cast members of upcoming movie "Yokomichi Yonosuke" attended the film premiere.

"Yokomichi Yonosuke" is based on Yoshida Shuichi's award-winning youth novel serialized on Mainichi Shimbun during 2008 ~ 2009. Setting in the late 1980s, the protagonist Yokomichi Yonosuke (Kora), who was born in a port town in Nagasaki, goes up to Tokyo to enter a college. Yonosuke's agreeable and good-natured personality always bring people around him. The story depicts a daily life of Yonosuke, his girlfriend Yosano Shoko (Yoshitaka), and those around him.

At the premiere, Kora said, "As I see the February 23rd (release day) is approaching, I can feel 'Yokomichi Yonosuke' is gradually leaving our hands. I can't help but feel lonesome." Yoshitaka agreed with him saying, "It is very lonesome, but it's a complex feeling as I also feel happy that I was able to be a part of a work that could make me feel this way. I feel bad for other works I have been in, but this was almost the first time for me to like a movie this much. I really love this work."

Kora also talked about filming, "It was such a happy time. I feel that there are many reflection points, and I wish I could have noticed it back then. I was able to act in the way I wanted at the time, and I was happy to act with many people for something that could have been done only with them." Yoshitaka also commented, "Even though Kora-san was the only one I was deeply involved in the movie with, I love other cast members too. It made me realize this work left a strong impression inside of me."

Other cast members who attended this day include Ikematsu Sosuke, Ito Ayumi, Ayano Go, and the director Okita Shuichi. There were also samba dancers at the red carpet event.

"Yokomichi Yonosuke" will open in theaters starting on the 23rd.
