It was announced that former Sakura Gakuin member Muto Ayami (17), who graduated from the group last spring, will start her activities as a solo idol. Muto will be the first full-scale solo idol from Amuse, a large entertainment company where artists likeSouthernAll Stars and Fukuyama Masaharu call home.
Though Muto has not been active since she graduated from Sakura Gakuin, she is now making a new start.
At Sakura Gakuin's live held at the end of March, white cards that just said "Muto Ayami 2013.4.29" with a URL, were distributed to the audience. As April 29th was Muto's birthday, several speculations were flying around among the fans, and now the details on the new project have been revealed on her official site, which was launched on the 29th.
The first project is called "DNA1980". As Muto grew up listening to 1980s music due to the influence of her parents, she has strong admiration for 80s solo idols, such as Matsuda Seiko.
In early summer of last year, Muto's solo project started with inviting the engineers from those days, as well as musicians, producers, and arrangers from each generation who are in their 20s to 60s, to the recording, in order to reconstruct the singing tone and the sound style from the 80s.
Muto will hold a live at Shibuya O-EAST on July 19th, and she will release "DNA1980 Vol.1" and "DNA1980 Vol.2" simultaneously, which will be available only at the venue.
Stay tuned for more details on Muto Ayami's solo project "DNA1980".
