Akimoto Yasushi, a producer for�AKB48, has written a school song titled "59 dan no Kakehashi" for Kyoto University of Art and Design, where Akimoto serves as a vice president. A campus festival was held on September 19th, and AKB48 performed the school song in front of 850 students.

Akimoto was requested to write a school song for the university, since the university was lacking one. Next year will be Kyoto University of Art and Design's 20th anniversary since its inception, and the university felt that something special was needed to commemorate it. Moreover, there is a special relationship between AKB48 and the KUAD students , in which the students have cooperated in designing their costumes since their debut.
