Media Blasters will re-start its yaoi manga division

allkpop

Yaoi (gay) and Shounen-ai (boys-love) fans, rejoice!

American comic publisher, Media Blasters, has confirmed that they will restart its yaoi and shounen-ai manga distribution starting sometime in 2011.

Last June, they removed the title "Gay's Anatomy: Episode Zero" by You Higashino indefinitely, but now that they will re-launch, the title has returned once more to the list.

Jennifer from "The Yaoi Review" website had been in Twitter sessions with the company and even emailed their Sales Department Manager, Donna Lopez, about the company's decision to withdraw the genre.
Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for your inquiry. Please be advised that the Yaoi division is not closing and will restart in 2011. We are just trying to figure out a new way to handle our Yaoi division in 2011, which has not been confirmed. Please feel free to follow up with me again in 2011. On another note we are planning on doing more Crimson Spell but [not] exactly sure of those plans yet. We will make any announcements necessary once we determine what direction we are going in. Thank you again for your inquiry and please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Thank you,

Donna

Sounds like a great decision by the company to embrace the gay culture in manga, particularly since there's a lot of focus in the States right now regarding gay teenagers being bullied mercilessly.
