In June, AKB48 will be having their 3rd �General Election� and their official guidebook �AKB48 General Election Official Guidebook 2011� sold 75,000 copies in its first week. With such a high sales figure, it topped the 5/23 Oricon Weekly Book Ranking. Last year�s edition entered at number one as well, making this two consecutive years for the girls.

Moreover, AKB member Watanabe Mayu�s solo photobook sold 45,000 copies in the first week, entering at number three. These achievements have made AKB top the book rankings this week.

Fans can begin voting in the �3rd AKB48 General Election� on May 24th and the final results will be announced at a tallying event on June 9th at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. In the first election Maeda Atsuko took the center position, during the second election Oshima Yuko took the top spot, knocking Maeda to second. This event has both tears of joy and sorrow. With one month left, the members are doing their best in activities to garner attention.
