Cast of "Ouran High School Host Club" movie appear at stage greeting
On March 17th, the cast of "Ouran High School Host Club" attended the movie's first stage greeting at Shinjuku Piccadilly.
Actress Kawaguchi Haruna expressed, "It's a film that is filled with our love. I didn't think there would be such a warm place, that's how much help I had from everyone. I'm sad that I won't be able to see my co-stars when this is over. I will never forget this."
The movie is based on a popular manga by Hatori Bisco, that has been serialized in the manga magazine, "LaLa", since 2002. Last summer, it was adapted into a drama, and it's story revolved around the host club of 'Ouran High School', where a female scholarship student named 'Fujioka Haruhi' disguises herself as a male host in order to pay for the expensive vase that she broke. The movie focuses on the love triangle between Haruhi, the host club's president (played by Yamamoto Yusuke), and an exchange student from Singapore named Michelle (Shinoda Mariko).
Along with Kawaguchi, Yamamoto Yusuke, Ryusei Ryo, Nakamura Masaya, Takagi Manpei, Takagi Shinpei, Chiba Yudai, and Daito Shunsuke attended the event. The cast livened up the crowd as they discussed 'who would they play if they were to play another role'. Yamamoto said, "Honey 'senpai' (Mitsukuni Haninozuka played by Chiba). When I was 17 or 18, I was cute and wasn't this monkey-like."
Additionally, a birthday cake was presented to Ryusei, Chiba, and Daito, who all share birthdays in March.
Yamamoto wrapped up the event saying, "I don't think there will be any other opportunities for the entire cast to gather again. This film is a collection of our feelings, so please watch it."
