Oshima Yuko to voice protagonist for Japanese version of Disney Pixar's 'Brave'
AKB48's Oshima Yuko will be the voice behind animated protagonist 'Merida' in the upcoming Disney Pixar film, 'Merida to Osoroshi no Mori' ('Brave')!
This will be Oshima's first time voice acting for a Hollywood film. She commented, "[I'm wondering] how I'm going to play this role. I'm already excited yet nervous at the same time."
Set in Scotland, the movie follows the story of a princess named Merida, who is determined to live her life freely. One day, she defies an ancient custom, bringing upheaval to the kingdom. In order to protect the kingdom and the people she loves, Merida enters the forest to seek help from the Wise Woman.
Oshima, who claims to be a big fan of Disney Pixar, shared that her favorite animated movie is 'Toy Story 3'. She revealed, "I've been moved by it many times, and I've cried many times too."
The idol enthusiastically stated, "I want people to think my voice is perfect for Merida, and I will do my best to give courage and energy to people who watch it. Please look forward to the film."
'Merida to Osoroshi no Mori' will open in theaters on July 21st.
