On June 18, it was announced that JKT48 member Nozawa Rena (15) would be holding a concurrent position in AKB48

This surprise announcement was made during the group's performance at JKT48 Theater. She is the first member from any overseas sister group to become a member of AKB48.

Nozawa, who has Japanese parents and a Japanese citizenship, currently resides in Jakarta due to her father's work. She passed JKT48's first generation auditions in November of 2011 as the only Japanese member of the group. She has been an active member of Team J alongside Takajo Aki (21) and Nakagawa Haruka (21) who transferred from AKB48 last November.

Although Nozawa will be returning to Japan, she will belong to both AKB48 and JKT48 Team J. No details on her upcoming activities have been revealed at this time.

Her dad is like a diplomat or something so I guess it's kinda like she get drag into moving to Japan because of his works so they went ahead and make her concurrent member in AKB? Seem kinda out of nowhere but since she have her families and can speak Japanese, it won't be so hard adjusting

Another member who holds 2 position. She makes me anxious since folks said her performance at JKT's theatre is under average.

TBH, the theater performance at the JKT48 theater is actually pretty good, not in anyway under average. Maybe not as good as at the AKB theater but it's gettong there. There are actually some amazing dancers and singers in JKT48.

@daydreamerzz I think 'gomes' is saying that Rena's performance itself is below average, not the theatre itself..

Hope she does well, if she gets to stay in both groups this might actually be an opportunity for JKT and AKB to collaborate and help each other to become even more successful in Japan and Indonesia.

wow! It's so surprising!
Never expected overseas sister group's member will be a concurrent position in AKB48.
It's going to be interesting to see her performance in AKB48. And it will help boosting JKT48's popularity in Japan.

The End
