On July 7 (8th in Japan), techno-pop trio Perfume wrapped up their 1st European tour in Paris, France.
Prior to France, the girls stopped in Germany and the UK. Paris is known to be a place with a high interest for Japanese pop culture. As such, many people lined up long before the doors opened. There were even fans who wore handmade costumes imitating ones that Perfume wore in their music videos and day-to-day lives.
When the members appeared on the dark stage, the venue lit up all at once. They excited the audience with their cutting-edge performance, which included digital art and SNS.
Perfume showed off their coordinated dance moves with their new song, "Magic of Love" (released in May). After capturing the hearts of the local fans, they performed their popular numbers, such as "Laser Beam" and "Polyrhythm", one after another. During the MC segments, the girls used French and English as well as gestures and hand motions to interact with their fans.
For the last number, the members called out "one, two, go!" and the audience raised their hands to "MY COLOR". Upon seeing the sight of their fans smiling and dancing together, they repeatedly shouted, "tres bien!"
The three reappeared on stage when the venue filled with a "Perfume call". For the first encore song, the girls had the audience choose out of 3 songs. "Nee" was chosen and there were fans who burst into tears when the intro started playing.
There was a live viewing of the London concert (held on July 5) in movie theaters across Japan (46 live broadcast, 74 delayed broadcast) as well as Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, the United States (Los Angeles), Brazil, and Mexico. It's said that a total of 32,500 fans enjoyed Perfume's 1st European tour.
