Former AKB48 member Komori Mika posts final blog post for her retirement from the entertainment industry

AKB48

On August 20, former AKB48 member Komori Mika, whose contract ended with her agency on the same day, posted her final blog post. Previously, she revealed that she would retire from the entertainment industry.

Entitled "Thank You [All The Way] To The End," Komori thanked fans in her blog with, "This is truly my final blog post! I am truly thankful to everyone who has followed the Komori blog to the very end!" She also reminisced on her interactions with fans by writing, "Sometimes, I was happy to find the comments from the people I remembered names from the handshake events and autograph sessions, and you guys also gave me interesting comments all the time. Thank you all very much ^^"

Komori talked about her decision with, "Even though I am retiring from the entertainment industry and the regular world is different from the entertainment world, I will use what I have learned as an entertainer and try my best to overcome any hardships that I will likely encounter ^^," and sent a message to fans with, "Even though I will leave the entertainment world, I will not forget any of you!!! On the other hand, please do not forget me (o_o)."

Komori joined AKB48 as a seventh-generation member.  In May of this year, she announced that she would graduate from the group to study abroad, and in July, she ended all her activities with AKB48.  She did not have any activities planned afterwards and this month, she announced her official retirement from the entertainment industry.
