Former AKB48 member Komori Mikahas announced that she will be retiring from the show business after her contract with her agency expires on August 20.

In a blog entry titled "To everyone who have supported me," Komori reported, "I've decided to quit show business." She apologized, "I'm sorry for this very sudden announcement."

Komori revealed, "In fact, I've been thinking about quitting show business for a very long time," and continued, "I made up mind to settle down a little and do my best in an environment that's different from the entertainment world while facing my new self. This is a decision I've made myself, so it would make me happy if you would watch over me warmly." She will continue to update her blog until the 20th.

Komori entered AKB48 as a 7th generation member and she was also a part of the sub-unit Watarirouka Hashiritai 7. In May, she announced her graduation from the group to aim for studying abroad. She ended her activities after a handshake event on July 7.
