girl next door has announced that they will be disbanding at the end of the year.

The unit celebrates their 5th year anniversary on September 3rd. Their official website states the details concerning their disbandment, "Upon the milestone of this 5th anniversary, we've had repeated discussions regarding the members' new challenges while respecting our individual activities and lives." 

Chisa (Vo) hinted that she will support her fianc�, professional swimmer Kitajima Kosuke, "When I thought about if I would be able to manage both my activities as girl next door and my future with the person I chose to be with... I was really troubled. But since I'm unskilled, I will surely be halfway with one or the other. I thought it would be rude that at such times, I wouldn't be able to 100%, as myself, face everyone who have supported me. That is why I will devote myself to support the person I chose to be with." 

Before disbanding, girl next door will release a best-of album "girl next door THE LAST" on November 20 and will hold their last live on December 8 at SHIBUYA-AX.

girl next door is a 3-member unit comprised of Chisa (Vo), Suzuki Daisuke (Key), and Inoue Yuji (G). They made their major debut in September of 2008 with the single "Guuzen no Kakuritsu". Their first appearance in the 'Kohaku Uta Gassen' was in December of 2008. Since then, they've been actively releasing songs and holding concerts.
