On September 2, actress Maeda Atsuko attended a product launch event for Fujiya as its new image character.�

Maeda appeared at the event hand-in-hand with the brand's popular mascot�Peko-chan. She smiled and said, "Since we started filming, so we've been friends for about 2 months. We are able to talk to each other now." She added, "I had many secret talks with Peko-chan during filming. Even earlier, I asked Peko-chan how she avoids getting sunburned since she's so white and she told me."�

Maeda showed a "Peko-chan smile" on the cover of her 5th photo book 'Bukiyou' which was released in March of last year. The new CM for Fujiya starring Maeda will air starting September 3.�
