Just wanna support Momusu, this is not the end of everything, they're still young, still have more to do.

i seriously don't get it Momusu has had a really good year and their sales are better than E-girls and Miwa, heck i think that even °C-ute has better sales than Miwa, don't get me wrong i like both E-girls and Miwa but i'm really disappointed about Momusu don't being invited...T.T

Miwa isn't an idol group. But she's a successful solo singer that's far, far, far, far more popular that any of the groups mentioned in your comment. Sales aren't everything. With idol groups: sales aren't anything. Momusu is dead. Get over it.

Sales =/= public attention. MM isn't even on the top 30 searches on Yahoo Japan, one of the main search engine Japanese use so they increased in sales but public still don't pay attention to them as much. It is what it is. Maybe next year. http://onehallyu.com/index.php?/topic/33247-yahoo-japan-2013-search-rankings/

I agree with the JE things. They should invite kiss my ft2 instead of sexy zone. Also, sekai no owari instead of kanjani 8. As for momusu, they topped the oricon chart for 3 times that is correct but I think they lack of identities IMHO. Momusu is too mainstream that's why they cannot stand out among other idol groups. They need to find some fresh ideas just like momoclo and 48 groups. Momoclo's sales might be lower than momusu's but they are more loved by Japanese. I even think babymetal and babyraids are better than momusu right now. So, I think they need to hire another producer and let him and Tsunku fight composing music. Whoever better will be granted to become a side song and the loser will become the coupling song. 48 groups, not only about their sales, but look at some dramas they even referencing 48 groups such as amachan, toshi densetsu no onna 2, etc. At least they are making idol groups more well-known.

They can leave Momosu's songs to Tsunku. Quote frankly their songs aren't the main problem here. What they need is more advertising. They stepped up their game this year but they have to do more next year. I'm hoping they surprise us and the rest of Japan with an advertising stunt.

@ohasumi but fixing their songs would be a good step. They went through a few years of repetitive styles of songs, then changed once and now they've been stuck on that same electric single for about 4 singles now? FFS Tsunku, how does this shit sell?

Arashi is hosting again this year! Although I don't understand why Sexy Zone is there. I don't have remembrance of what they have done this year to deserve on Kouhaku. And they are just in their 3rd year since debut. I'm not a fan but I haven't seen much recognizeable activities from Sexy Zone. Do their members acted in drama/movie? I think they have done tour in 2012? Only looking through Wiki and it doesn't tell much of the group either. Just what the--? I would accept it if they are at their popularity peak or whatsoever.

Arashi performed in Kouhaku after 10 years debuting. Kanjani 8 for their second time after 11 years debuting. So, what make Sexy Zone more special than these two groups and especially Arashi? I don't think I have to elaborate much on how much Arashi deserve to be there just like all other notable artists. But eh, this year Kouhaku is somehow, hmm :/

It's the same as with NYC before. I heard about JE using Arashi as bargaining chip to get them into Kouhaku even tho NYC isn't that popular either. It's nothing new tho there's a law against minor appear on TV after a certain time at night. Last year only one member of SZ could make it on Kouhaku. It's just a waste of spot if only 1, 2 members are allow on the show.

@mochichan I agree I think Sexy Zone should have not been there maybe Kis-my-ft2 but not them , I'm sure JE is using Arashi to bring them SZ too

@mochichan I remember watching NYC in Kouhaku even though I don't really know them. But I give it an okay for their song 100% Yuuki. I think they'll perform earlier due to the time limit for underage.

@amekaze-afc I would understand if it's Kis-my-ft2. They have done quite some stuff this year: Singles, dome tour and drama. Whereas Sexy Zone only released one single this year. Although it's their fifth single. No album or even dome tour yet? I only go through Tokyohive old articles though. And I found only two related to SZ for year 2013.

No Momosu makes me sad. :( After all their hardwork, I guess it wasn't enough. I don't believe in any of those conspiracy theories but it's clear that Momosu doesn't have a lot of presence in the media YET. But hopefully this will empower them to try harder next year. They need to be everywhere so they can get invited. Being regular guests on TV is going to help a bunch. Pair that with a great single (I'm excited for that Olympic single) and with more high-ranking chart places then I seriously do hope they get invited next year.

Yeah..where is Morning Musume? Is there some behind-the-scenes tension between the board of NHK and the group that we don't know of? They've got like three #1 singles already from this year. Why only Momoiro Clover Z?....come on..

kanjo
· Posted November 29, 2013 @ 3:37 am
Because more than 200 people like Momoiro Clover Z in Japan.

No offense to E-girls cause i love them as well but how do they make it and yet Morning Musume gets snubbed yet again.... We had 3 #1 singles in a row and they all sold over 100k yet we still cant get an invite to the big shows... I don't know wut else we have to do... Its kind of discouraging to the group members to not get recognized for all the hard work they put in re-surging Momusu's popularity over the last 2 years

I count 5 JE groups to 3 48 groups and one of the JE group, Sexy Zone isn't even popular as the 48 and people complain about the 48 when JE groups monopolized the whole boy groups industry for like decades. Really? Be fair here at least *rolleyes*

Anyway line up doesn't matter because I never watch the full show so I'll just skip to the ones I like. Glad E-girls made it this year and hope Linked Horizon do some sword performances.

Morning Musume should definitely be in the line up this year. They have had a amazing year with only #1 singles this year and steady gaining popularity. I'm fine with miwa and E-girls there, but it feels weird to see another 48-group there. No offense, their sales are incredible and not to mention popular, but I really hate to see some kind of monopolism...

Hopefully Morning Musume will keep working hard and maybe next year....

48 girls, Perfume, Kanayan, & Nana-chan! Red team please win this time!

AAA's in Red Team? Okay...clarification, please?

T.M.R. being here makes me think of those PR & KD...can't really be red or white.

LOL, no Korean artists again. So much for those rumors.

@amekaze-afc Last time I read in Google, Kpop artists are no longer invited to perform? The Japanese were complaining (sorta) there are too many kpop idols invited back in 2011. KARA, SNSD, Tohoshinki at the same time. So they decided to stop inviting K-artist for next Kouhaku and reserved the program only for Japanese. That's what I read through Google. Maybe this is due to how huge Kouhaku is.

@cookiesdreamer Only a few nationalists were complaining. Maybe it's that but honestly what other kpop acts actually done anything big in Japan this year? Even top groups like Kara and SNSD dropped tremendously in sales and most groups pretty much pop up, release one single, then disappear back to Korea so it's understandable. Tho DBSK should be invite but they have their 10th anniversary around that time so maybe SM want to focus on that.

@mochichan Yeah. I remember SNSD latest single Galaxy Supernova top Oricon on 2nd day but the number of sales isn't really that high either. And the LE edition didn't sold out after a month. Anyway, I didn't keep up-to-date much about k-pop news but would love to see TVXQ performs too. Maybe next year Kouhaku.

Christ Hart was invited so it's not just Japanese groups. But seriously, K-pop groups haven't done anything impressive at all in Japan this year. The Hallyu wave has crashed and there's no point (in my opinion) of getting k-pop groups just because.

no Morning Musume?...it's ok, now they will give 101% focus on "Hello! Project end-of-the-year countdown party live 2013" and also "Hello! Project Winter Concert Tour" that will start on 2nd January 2014...but still MM deserve a spot in Kohaku this year...

The End
