Hashimoto Ai cast in 'Little Forest' movie alongside Amachan costar
Actress Hashimoto Ai (18), who got her big break through last year's NHK Asadora "Amachan", has been cast as the lead for the upcoming movie "Little Forest."
"Little Forest" is based on Igarashi Daisuke's popular manga. The live-action film adaptation will be made into four parts; summer, autumn, winter, and spring. The summer and autumn chapters (as a double-feature movie) are set for release on August 30, while the winter and spring chapters (also as a double-feature movie) will be released on February 14, 2015.

The movies tell the story of "Ichiko" (Hashimoto) living a self-sufficient life in the middle of Mother Nature, and regaining her power of living. It also features the daily meals she cooks using many seasonal ingredients.
The summer chapter of "Little Forest" will be about Ichiko going back to her hometown in order to find herself. In the autumn chapter, she will receive a letter from her mother who had left home. In the winter chapter, she will find out her mother's secret and in the final spring chapter, the grown-up Ichiko will once again return to the city.
It was also announced that Hashimoto's "Amachan" co-star Matsuoka Mayu who was the leader of GMT47 in the morning drama will play Ichiko's childhood friend. Other cast members include Miura Takahiro (28), Nukumizu Yoichi (49), Kirishima Karen (49) and more.
