On January 9, actor Mizushima Hiro attended the Japan premiere event for his movie 'Kuroshitsuji' (January 18th release).
'Kuroshitsuji' marks Mizushima's first lead role in a movie in about 3 years. As his co-stars Gouriki Ayame and Yuka talked about their resolutions for this year, Mizushima said, "Everyone is very active. I'm sure most of you have plans after this [movie], so I leave next year's resolutions up to everyone." He continued, "This is all I have. My [resolution] is for this to be a hit."
At the end of the event, Mizushima started to say, "I've avoided talking about my true opinions at places like this, but please listen." He reflected, "As the co-producer of this film, it's taken 2 and a half years to get here since we first started planning. As an actor, it took me half a year to prepare for the role and a month and a half to shoot it. Together, that's 7 and a half months. I've spent a lot of time on this 'Kuroshitsuji'."
He strongly expressed, "Because I've put all my efforts that I can into it, the evaluation of the movie, and myself as a producer and actor is a competition. I want to win this competition!"
Aside from Mizushima, Gouriki, and Yuka, other attendees included Yamamoto Mizuki, Maruyama Tomomi, Ono Takuro, Kurihara Louis, Ibu Masato, and director Otani Kentaro. Singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin also made a surprise appearance and sang the movie's theme song "Through the ages".
