AKB48 Team 8 member Moriwaki Yui has withdrawn from group activities. 

Team 8 is made up of 47 members representing the 47 prefectures of Japan. Moriwaki, who was the Fukuoka representative member, had been active in Team 8 since its formation in April of 2014. 

On their official website, Moriwaki wrote, "Managing [Team 8 activities] with my studies was a lot harder than I imagined. I thought about many things, but I felt strongly that I want to prioritize my studies right now. If I remained as a member of Team 8, I thought that half-heartedness would cause worries and troubles to fans, and of course, to the people of my hometown who support me." 

With the withdrawal of Moriwaki, there will be an audition for a new Fukuoka representative member.
