New member Yoshida Karen has joined AKB48 Team 8.

This announcement was made on April 3 during the group's concert "TOYOTA presents AKB48 Team 8 Zenkoku Tour ~47 no Suteki na Machi e~ Team 8 Kessei 1 Shunen Kinen Tokubetsu Kouen in Tokyo" at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL. Yoshida, who joined the group as the new Fukuoka representative, took the stage alone and sang "Romance Kakurenbo". Afterwards, she introduced herself as a 12-year-old who entered her first year of intermediate school this month. The crowd was surprised to meet the youngest member of the group. 

After the concert, Yoshida commented, "It was fun. I was anxious about a lot of things, but the audience members at the venue were really excited and called out 'Kare~n!', so my nervous feelings flew away somewhere."
