Tsunku? has revealed that he has gotten his vocal cords removed.

On April 4th, Tsunku? appeared at an entrance ceremony at his alma mater Kinki University. Instead of personally reading a congratulatory speech, he delivered the message through a video on the screen. Through the video message, he revealed that he had his vocal cords completely removed for cancer treatment.�

Then on his official blog,�Tsunku? wrote, "I had surgery in mid-October, and was discharged later that month. After I was discharged, I began working while consulting my physical condition. I was able to peacefully spend my New Year's holiday for the first time since I started working, all while receiving medical treatment. Thus, I was able to recover pretty well."�

On his future activities, he said that he will continue "writing lyrics, composing music, and producing songs. There is�still a lot to learn about other things, but I hope to be of help to everyone."�
