AKB48's 40th single "Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai" (released on May 20) sold 1,472,000 copies on the first day!

The first day sales for this single exceeded their own record of 1,462,000 copies which they achieved last year with "Labrador Retriever."

This is the 9th single for the group to sell over a million copies on the release day, and the 2nd single for Shimazaki Haruka to surpass the million mark as the center. 

"Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai" includes a serial number to vote for the group's upcoming general election. The vote counting event will be held at Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome on June 6.
