AKB48 Team K member Uchida Mayumi has announced her graduation from the group.

This announcement was made on August 7 during a big handshake event held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. On her official Instagram account, Uchida wrote, "I don't think I would call myself a 'royal road idol' in AKB48. I'm glad that I didn't give up on doing things differently from other people and in my own way. I don't have any regrets." 

Uchida is the owner of the yakiniku restaurant 'Yakiniku IWA' that opened in 2014. On her future activities, she commented, "I want to work with all my might in both my entertainment activities and my job as a manager."
