On September 26, it was reported that actress Maki Yoko (32) has divorced her husband, former actor Katayama Reo (33). Maki's agency made the announcement via fax to media outlets.

According to the announcement, Maki and Katayama submitted their divorce papers at a ward office in Tokyo this month. The actress also apologized for making the sudden announcement in this format. 

Maki and Katayama got married in November of 2008. They welcomed their first child, a daughter, in May the following year. Maki will have parental authority over their daughter.
