Renowned manga artist Boichi's popular Sci-Fi comic "ORIGIN" is set for a Hollywood live-action adaptation, as officially announced by Kodansha on December 7, 2023. "ORIGIN" is an Sci-Fi-violence action series that unfolds the gripping battle between non-human entities preying on humans in Tokyo in the year 2048 and the mysterious figures known as "Origins" hunting them down. Boichi, known for his meticulous artwork across various genres including Sci-Fi, action, and gourmet themes, is the creative force behind works like "Dr. STONE" and "Wallman."

The adaptation is in the hands of Majestic Limited, a production company founded by Josh Boone, known for directing films such as "The Fault in Our Stars" (2014), and executive producer Danny Chan, associated with recent productions like "Barbarian" (2022) and "Freelance" (2023). Darius Shahmir, known for his roles in productions like "Midnight Special" (2016) and "The Big Five" (in production), serves as producer and scriptwriter. Kodansha, the publisher of the original comic, also joins as a co-producer.

While details such as the director and cast are yet to be announced, Majestic Limited, with a focus on unique and innovative productions, aims to redefine the relationship between Japanese manga and Hollywood. Darius Shamir, the CEO of Majestic Limited, expressed pride in collaborating with Boichi and Kodansha on the live-action adaptation of "ORIGIN," foreseeing it as a project that not only provides an unforgettable experience for global fans but also redefines the connection between Japanese manga and Hollywood.

Kodansha's Rights Media Business Division Director, Yohei Takami, expressed excitement about delivering Boichi's narrative of "ORIGIN" to audiences worldwide in a new format, aligning with their mission to inspire impossible stories that are both entertaining and enlightening.
