Kylee performs her new song "Mirai" at private showing of "Signal ~Getsuyoubi no Ruka~"
On June 4, American-born singer Kylee appeared at a private preview showing of the movie "Signal ~Getsuyoubi no Ruka~" with the film's lead actress Mine Azusa, and performed the theme song of the movie, "Mirai".
The movie will open in Japanese theaters on June 9. Kylee's newest song, which will be released later this month, has been appointed as the theme song of the film. "I'm honored that you so thoroughly sang Ruka's (the protagonist of the movie) feelings," said Mine, overcome with emotion by Kylee's passionate performance. "I'm so moved."
During a talk session hosted prior to the private showing of the film, Mine and Kylee had "girl talk" with fifty female high school students. Kylee herself graduated from her American high school in Arizona last month. She'll be continuing her education at the presitigious Stanford University.
She commented, "I've just graduated from high school... After talking to my friends, I think that I was able to put my thoughts about the feelings of falling in love with someone, the sweet feeling of falling in love, feeling as if you'd like to keep doing your best in love, and so on, making this song."
