KOM_I has announced that she is pregnant with her first child. She will be giving birth overseas sometime this summer. 

The baby's father is cultural anthropologist Ota Akimi. While KOM_I and Ota are not planning on getting married, they are working together to create an art documentary titled 'La Vie Cinématique Eigateki Jinsei,' following KOM_I's pregnancy to delivery. 

Directed by Ota, the movie will be created with the key concept "What does the world look like from KOM_I's fetal point of view?" It will document KOM_I's artwork created during pregnancy along with her research journey of folk performing arts. They are aiming to complete it in 2024, and get it screened at film festivals overseas as well as in movie theaters in Japan and overseas. As such, a crowdfunding campaign will take place until May 9.
