The stage play "Monster Calls," featuring Shori Sato of Sexy Zone, is set to debut in Tokyo and Osaka in February 2024. "Monster Calls" is based on an illustrated novel by American author Patrick Ness, inspired by the notes of British author Siobhan Dowd. The play was previously scheduled to premiere in Japan in 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Four years later, the British production team and Japanese cast are joining forces to bring this highly acclaimed production to Japan.
Shori Sato, who portrays the young boy Connor, expressed his excitement about the long-awaited performance. The play will also feature Takaya Yamauchi as the mysterious monster, Jun Sena as Connor's ailing mother, and Shingo Kuzuyama as his distant father. "Monster Calls" will run at Tokyo's PARCO Theater from February 10th to March 3rd, 2024, and at COOL JAPAN PARK OSAKA WW Hall in Osaka from March 8th to March 17th, 2024.
For those living in Japan or visiting during this time, don't miss the chance to witness Shori Sato's remarkable performance in "Monster Calls" in Tokyo throughout February and in Osaka during March 2024.
