Japanese voice actor Hirakawa Daisuke, aged 50, surprised fans when he announced on social media that he has been hospitalized due to sudden sensorineural hearing loss, a condition that necessitates him to take a rest from his work for an indeterminate period of time.

Hirakawa revealed that a few days ago he noticed something was amiss with his ear. A consultation with his doctor confirmed the unfortunate diagnosis of Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss. This condition will require medical treatment as well as ample time for rest. Hence, he is now undergoing treatment in the hospital as per the doctor's instruction.
