Voice actor Junichi Suwabe announced on December 8th that he will take a break starting January 1, 2024, due to health reasons. Suwabe, known for his roles as Sukuna in "Jujutsu Kaisen," Grimmjow in "Bleach," and many others, plans a break of approximately 2 to 3 weeks. His agency apologized for any inconvenience and concern this may cause to fans and industry members.
The agency stated, "Once the expected return date is determined, we will inform you. We deeply apologize for causing great inconvenience and concern to everyone involved in the works and programs, as well as the fans."
Suwabe, on his blog, explained that he is undergoing surgery recommended by a doctor for a condition that does not affect his work or daily life at the moment. He expressed his desire to continue working actively and decided on the break to address any minor concerns. He assured fans that the surgery is not related to a long-term illness.
Regarding the scheduled performance in Osaka for the "Premiere Music Reading Theatre VOICARION XVII Spoon no Tate" on January 6th and 7th, Suwabe confirmed his withdrawal and apologized to fans and everyone involved. He announced that Koichi Yamadera would act as a substitute.
